Give the text you repeat its own shortcut
Keep your usual replies, instructions and text snippets ready to paste. Hotkey Inserter lets you assign each saved entry a system-wide keyboard shortcut, then use it in the application where you are already working.
No need to find the original document or retype the same paragraph.

A different shortcut for every reply
Create named entries for the text you reuse, from a short response to a multiline set of instructions. Unicode text is supported.
Choose Ctrl, Alt, Shift or Windows modifiers with a letter, digit or function key. Register several entries and keep their shortcuts active at the same time.
Switch to your target application, place the cursor where the text belongs and press the matching shortcut. The app pastes that entry’s text using the clipboard.
Edit a draft without changing the active reply
An unfinished edit should not become the text you accidentally send.
Hotkey Inserter keeps pending changes separate from registered text until you select Update shortcut. You can switch between entries without losing their drafts, discard an entry’s edits or save it disabled for later.
Update, disable or remove one shortcut without stopping the others. The entry list shows which shortcuts are active and which have pending changes.
Keep it nearby, not in the way
Minimize the window to keep Hotkey Inserter in the notification area. Reopen it from the tray icon, disable all shortcuts from the tray menu or exit when you are done.
The editor adapts to the window: browse entries beside the text in a wide layout or use a stacked layout in a smaller window. Applied text and shortcut settings are saved locally for the next launch.
Set up your first text shortcut
- Add an entry, give it a recognizable name and enter your text.
- Choose a key combination and select Register shortcut.
- Open an application that accepts clipboard paste and focus a text field.
- Press your shortcut to paste the saved text.
Keep the app running while you use its shortcuts. Closing the window exits the app; minimizing keeps it available in the tray.
Important clipboard and compatibility details
Does it preserve what I copied?
No. Each shortcut replaces the current clipboard contents with the saved text. The previous contents are not restored. Windows clipboard history, clipboard sync and other applications may retain or access that text according to your system settings.
Can I store passwords?
Do not store passwords, access tokens or other secrets. Settings are plain text, not an encrypted vault.
Will it paste into every application?
The target app must accept Ctrl+V. Elevated, protected or incompatible applications may reject pasting. Windows-reserved shortcuts and combinations already used by another application may be unavailable.
Does it need an account or internet connection?
No. Hotkey Inserter works locally, with no app account, telemetry or network connection.
Requires an x64 PC running Windows 10 version 2004, build 19041, or later.
