Win Teleprompter: Offline Scripts & Scrolling for Windows

Keep your next words close to the camera

Read your script without repeatedly looking down at a document. Win Teleprompter puts your words where you need them while you present, record a video, host an interview or read a podcast script.

Write a multi-page script, import PowerPoint presenter notes or open an existing .textream file, then position the prompt around your setup.

Choose how the script follows you

Different scripts need different pacing. Pick from three reading modes:

  • Classic scrolling: set a pace from 0.5 to 8 words per second, without a microphone.
  • Voice-activated scrolling: move the script while the microphone detects sound.
  • Spoken-word tracking: use an installed Windows desktop speech recognizer to follow recognized words.

Pause and resume when you need a break. Click a word to jump to it, or use the mouse wheel to catch up.

Voice activation responds to sound, not just your voice, so background noise can move the script. Spoken-word tracking depends on the languages and recognition accuracy available on your PC.

Put the prompt where you read best

Use a floating, camera-pinned or fullscreen prompt. A separate output lets you place the script on another display while keeping the controls on your main screen.

For teleprompter glass, mirror the output horizontally or vertically without mirroring the controls.

Adjust fonts, text size, colors and prompt dimensions to suit the distance between you and the screen. Optional acrylic glass changes the prompt’s appearance, and collapsible sidebar sections keep settings out of the way while you work.

Bring your script, not a new workflow

Write in the multi-page editor, import a text file, extract PowerPoint presenter notes or open and save .textream scripts.

Word counts and reading-time estimates help you prepare before a rehearsal. Your draft and settings stay on your PC, ready for the next session.

Set up your next read-through

  1. Write or import your script.
  2. Choose a reading mode and adjust the pace and appearance.
  3. Position the prompt near the camera or on an external display.
  4. Rehearse, pause and jump through the script as needed.

Win Teleprompter handles prompting, not video capture. Use your recording or meeting application separately.

Requirements and common questions

Do I have to use a microphone?

No. Classic mode works without one. Microphone access is optional and off until you enable it.

Microphone modes require a working default microphone, Windows desktop microphone permission and an installed desktop speech recognizer.

Does it need internet access?

No. The app works offline, with no account, advertising or analytics. It does not include network sharing, a browser client or remote control.

Can I use a second screen or teleprompter glass?

Yes. Separate external-display output and horizontal or vertical mirroring support those setups. A second display is optional.

Which Windows version does it require?

Windows 11 version 23H2 or later, on a supported .NET 10 Windows release. Use an x64 PC with a keyboard or pointing device. A display of 1440 by 900 or higher is recommended.

Is OpenDyslexic included?

No. It is available only if you install the font yourself.

Prepare the words. Keep your place.
