Simple Memory Game Template now ships with a reusable, data-driven board and five configurable difficulty presets—from 2 to 16 pairs.
One board, several difficulty levels
Instead of building separate scenes for each level, the template creates cards from one assigned prefab and reuses them as the board changes size. Difficulty assets configure the pair count and layout, while the selector and board adapt between portrait and landscape orientations.
Safe-area- and banner-aware layouts make room for mobile screen edges and ad banners. Card grids use responsive square cells, and the HUD, difficulty selector, and completion popup have been polished to work together as a consistent mobile flow.
Smoother play and simpler setup
The update improves performance with card reuse, pooled effects, a Sprite Atlas, Android texture settings, and lighter decorative canvases. It also hardens card selection, session resets, animation cancellation, object-pool fallbacks, and scene navigation.
Configuration is centralized in ScriptableObject assets, with runtime defaults when those assets are unavailable. The Google Mobile Ads integration uses official test ad IDs, child-directed request settings, and updated Android build compatibility.
The documentation has also been rewritten to make setup, customization, advertising, performance, and troubleshooting easier to follow.
